Cassidy is a passionate Communication student with a concentration in Journalism at Kennesaw State University. She is a staff writer for her school newspaper, The Sentinel. She produces and hosts original sports segments, #TheCassReport, where she interviews high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. She is focused on honing her craft as a reporter, writer, and editor. Cassidy wants to be the best storyteller and be able to touch people's lives as a journalist.

Campus carry bill passes the Georgia House

House Bill 859, also known as the “campus carry” bill, passed the state House of Representatives in a vote Monday, Feb. 22, 2016. With a final vote of 113-59, the campus carry bill passed the House and moved on to the Senate after over an hour of discussion and speeches from legislators on both sides of the issue. The bill would allow anyone 21 or older with a concealed carry weapons permit to carry a gun on a public college or university campus statewide.

14-month-old kidnapped by mother at Lenox Mall

ATLANTA- A 14-month- old boy was kidnapped by his mother at Lenox Square Mall late Monday morning during a supervised visit by the Division of Family and Children Services. Ryan Alwadi was taken by his mother, Sahar Alwadi, without permission during their supervised visit around 11:30 a.m. Although the visit was supervised by DFCS, Alwadi managed to make it out of the mall with her 14-month-old son.
